Compress an NSP document to 200 KB

National Scholarship Portal documents we checked are capped at 200 KB each. Compress the income or caste certificate in this tab.

National Scholarship Portal application windows ask for income certificates, caste certificates, and marksheets as PDF or JPEG. The NSP SOP and the MoMA FAQ we read both cap a document at 200 KB. A phone photo “saved as PDF” of a one-page certificate is often several megabytes, so the form rejects it before anyone reads it.

Sources: scholarships.gov.in FAQ_MOMA.pdf and NSP_SOP.pdf. Last checked 7 October 2026. Caps can change between schemes. Read the current application’s upload note.

A practical pass during the window

Export or scan one certificate per file. Open Compress PDF and choose the 200 KB target. The page is redrawn as an image until the file is under 200 KB, or you get a plain explanation if it cannot be done without going unreadably small.

Colour scans of stamps and photographs fail more often than a grayscale scan of printed text. If 200 KB is impossible, crop to the certificate itself and drop the table it was lying on.

Do this on your own phone or laptop. Scholarship files include parent names, income, and sometimes Aadhaar. They should not sit on a conversion website for the length of the job.

Frequently asked questions

What is the NSP document size limit?

The NSP SOP and MoMA FAQ we checked say PDF or JPEG up to 200 KB per document. Confirm the scheme you are applying under, because windows differ.

Will the certificate still be readable?

Usually, for a one-page text certificate. The tool refuses to pretend success if even the smallest image is over 200 KB. Read the download before you submit it.

Is the file uploaded?

No. Compression runs in this tab.

Can I merge marksheets first?

Only if the form wants one file. Merging several scans and then fitting the bundle under 200 KB is harder than compressing each document. Merge PDF and Compress PDF are both on this site.
